Recycled nylon across the full range. PFAS-free water-resistant coatings since 2024, with C0 DWR. The large majority of Topo products use organic or recycled materials, free of forever chemicals.
Construction
Quality YKK zippers. Bar-tack reinforced stress points. Coated zippers on technical models such as the Rover Pack Tech. Hardware rated for loaded daily use.

Heritage
Founded in 2008 by Jedd Rose and Mark Hansen in Fort Collins, Colorado. Jedd started sewing packs in his basement. Mark sourced materials and built the community. Still designed in Colorado.

Yes. The 20 litre size works as a carry on personal item, the organisation keeps documents and tech in order, and the Global Pro converts to a backpack for the airport.
Are Topo Designs briefcases water resistant?
Water resistant, not fully waterproof. The recycled nylon and coatings shed light rain, and finishes have been PFAS free since 2024. For a downpour, protect the laptop separately.
Can a briefcase be worn as a backpack?
The Global Pro 3-Way Briefcase has stowable backpack straps, so it carries on the back when you need hands free. The others carry by the handle or on the shoulder.
What are they made of, and will they last?
